How Does Opus Laser Treatment Work?

Opus Plasma™ laser treatment uses electrical plasma energy to create small openings in the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing processes. This causes the skin to create collagen, which helps improve skin tone and texture. Not only will your wrinkles be reduced, but your skin will feel soft and smooth to the touch.

The treatment usually involves at least three to four sessions spaced six months apart. Each session is very brief and shouldn’t take more than 20 to 30 minutes. By the end of the process, you’ll be able to enjoy a much more youthful appearance.

What are the Benefits of Opus Laser Treatment?

The Opus laser treatment can improve your appearance in various ways. As mentioned above, it can help smooth out the skin and make you look significantly younger. However, it can also be used to make other types of improvements. For example, some people have dark patches on their faces that stand out from the rest of the skin. This is known as hyperpigmentation, and it’s a condition that can often be corrected using an Opus laser.

We may also suggest Opus laser treatment if there are any scars on your face left by acne or some type of trauma. This approach is far more reliable than the over-the-counter options that claim to be able to treat acne scars.

It is considered safe, and it’s effective on all skin tones. Adults of all ages are eligible for it, although it offers the best results for people between the ages of 40 and 70. To determine whether you’re a good candidate for Opus laser treatment – or to see if there’s another solution for improving your facial appearance – you can reach out to us today to schedule a cosmetic consultation with Dr. Artino.

Opus Laser Treatment FAQS

Before you begin your Opus laser treatment to enhance your facial appearance, we encourage you to let our team know if you have any questions. You should only move forward with the procedure when you’re sure that you fully understand what it entails. Below, we’ve answered some particularly common questions that a lot of people ask when it comes to Opus laser treatment; if you have any inquiries that aren’t listed here, don’t hesitate to let us know!

How is Opus Laser Treatment Different from Other Skin Resurfacing Treatments?

Unlike other skin resurfacing procedures, Opus laser treatment combines plasma and RF energy. The RF energy penetrates the skin to encourage the production of collagen; meanwhile, the plasma treats the more superficial layers of the skin to keep damage to a minimum. This approach is what allows Opus laser treatment to address a wide variety of wrinkles and fine lines, including those on more delicate areas such as the eyelids.

What Kind of Issues Can Opus Laser Treatment Address?

Opus laser treatment can be an excellent solution if you have any of the following:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Lax skin
  • Crow's feet
  • Dull or dark spots on your skin
  • Acne scars
  • Uneven texture
  • Scars from trauma or surgery

If any of these sound familiar, give us a call to learn more about Opus laser treatment.

Is Opus Laser Treatment Painful?

Typically, you shouldn’t experience any pain during an Opus laser treatment. Before we begin, we will apply a numbing cream to the area; we’ll wait about 20 to 30 minutes to make sure it takes effect. With your skin appropriately numbed, the only thing you’ll likely notice during your treatment will be a sensation of warmth. The session shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes, although the exact length of time depends on the area being treated.

Are There Any Side Effects from Opus Laser Treatment?

There are virtually no side effects associated with Opus laser treatment. At most, you might experience mild to moderate redness and swelling, similar to what you might see when you have a sunburn. Also, your skin might feel unusually tight and dry. These side effects should fade on their own after a while.

We will give you instructions for taking proper care of your skin following your Opus laser treatment. Normally, you should plan to avoid any excessive sun exposure and take steps to make sure that your skin stays hydrated for a few days.

How Much Does an Opus Laser Treatment Cost?

The answer to that question is different for each patient and depends on a number of factors. When putting together an estimate, we’ll need to consider the size of the area that needs to be treated. We’ll also have to take into account the number of sessions that will likely be required. Rest assured that you will not have to move forward with the process until we have provided you with an accurate cost estimate that you can use to make a plan.
